The Race for Mbarara City North Parliamentary seat is getting more interesting every day. From the high number of people vying to unseat Hon. Tusiime Michael, to the caliber of the contestants, this will surely go to the wire.
As expected, the race has been boosted by Chairman of the NRM Entrepreneurs League Ambassador Dr. Robert Mwesigwa Rukari.
Amb. Rukari – who is the early favourite for the seat picked the nomination forms for the NRM Primaries on Thursday and is set to lock horns with others for the party flag in the upcoming primaries.
Analysis by our Political desk indicate that Amb. Rukari is more appealing to Mbarara North electorates compared to other candidates – including the incumbent.
His record of passionate service aimed at empowering people especially the youth and women makes him stand out. He is campaigning on a promise of more empowerment of different people through Skilling and creating linkages for groups like the farmers. Top on his agenda also is lobbying for schools, promotion of efficient land utilisation, promotion of innovation and improvement of infrastructure like roads.
