Mutazindwa To Spearhead New Mbarara Radio

Veteran journalist Francis Mutazindwa who recently left Vision group will be in charge of managing a new Radio Station owned by Ankole Diocese in Mbarara.

As Mbarara News exclusively reported sometime back, Ankole diocese is opening a Radio Station in the Land of Milk and Honey.

We can now exclusively confirm that this project will finally start mid August and all is being put in place to achieve this target.

Mbarara News has got information that veteran journalist Francis Mutazindwa who left the Boma Hill based Vision Group Mbarara Bureau at the end of the last financial year has been hand picked to manage the diocese Radio Station.

When it comes to media management experience and knowledge, very few people rival Mutazindwa and with him, this project is in safe hands.

News reaching our desk indicate that Ankole Bishop Dr. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa has confidence in Mutazindwa’s abilities and has assured him of all the necessary support to have this Radio flourish. The Bishop is the brain behind this development.

With the manager in place, we hear the hunt for presenters and other workers is ongoing. This has put Radio Managers in the region on pressure because they fear that their best employees might be poached by the new star on the block given the fact that this Radio Station seem well positioned to pay well.

Despite these fears, Mbarara News believes that the opening of a new media house is a welcome development as it will provide employment, widen the source of information and entertainment but also increase the creativity level of the already existing players in the media industry.
