Stanbic bank became the latest big entity to test the wrath of the global pandemic after one of its staff tested positive for the virus
In a statement the management confirmed the incident saying the unnamed person is an employee on their William street branch who tested positive and is curently undergoing medication whilst scores of other staff have isolated for 14 days with their contacts being sought after.
Management further announced that the branch would be closed temporarily as they disinfect to avoid further spread of the virus.
Several government and organisations have seen staff test positive namely the Police force, UNRA and the Army command it remains to be seen wether president Museveni will re-impose a fresh lockdown after a surge in cases in recent days.
Museveni is expected to address the nation soon with unconfirmed reports indicating that a fresh lockdown could be reinstated to help curtail the spread
To date Uganda has over 2,000 cases and 22 deaths with over 50% of the cases registered in Kampala and Wakiso.
